I went a full size up to allow for thick winter socks. I thought I had got them too big but decided to go with them and wore them outside and they are perfect being a bit on the larger side. The Gortex really works and although the top of the shoe is material and not leather they are waterproof. Light, strong and comfortable. Delivery was very quick.Comfortable and water proof. I don't like hiking boots as I like my ankle to be free. Bought theses for a camping and hiking trip. Used these firstly on an 8km hike followed by a 28km hike 2 days later. No issues. When raining at the camps item I used them instead of runners.Smart walking shoe. I was worried the pink would be a bit garish, but it's actually pleasantly subtle. They do seem wide fitting, but then i'll have plenty of room for socks in Winter. So far the shoes have performed well on a variety of surfaces - they felt comfortable and secure.Only criticism is that the tread design could be better, it has a habit of trapping the odd pebble and that doesn't do my floors any good.I am normally a size 8 but have to get a 9 in walking shoes or boots. So it us good to see woman's size 9, as there aren't many to choose from. I love merrells as they are so supportive and comfortable. I walked 7 miles the first time wearing them and have no soreness or blisters. I highly recommend them.I was dubious about buying walking shoes online, but wanted merrell shoes at a good price, so with the knowledge that they could be easily returned bought these in a todays deal. I normally take a 6 1/2, 7 if the shoes are narrow, so went for a 7, a little concerned that they might be tight with thick socks. However the shoes fit perfectly, feel very comfortable even in thick trekking socks. They are more comfortable than my heavy leather walking boots. I have walked for a few hours in the new shoes so far, they have not needed 'walking in' and my feet have stayed dry in damp conditions. I wouldn't have gone for this colourway but for the price, however once on I think they look and feel great. Some reviewers have mentioned short laces, I haven't found them particularly short and have managed double knots. So far all very positive, a real bargain.
